Privacy Policy

Jisan Law has established this Privacy Policy as follows, in accordance with the Korean Personal Information Protection Act, to protect users' personal information and to handle related complaints promptly.

1. Purpose of processing
We process personal information to receive consultation requests, identify applicants, respond to consultations and review whether to take on a case. We do not use it for any other purpose.

2. Items processed
Required: name, contact details (phone number or messenger ID) and the details of your inquiry. Optional: area of the case, current stage and concerns. Collected automatically: the address of the page from which the consultation was requested, and access records kept on the server for website operation and security (IP address, browser type, and date and time of access).

3. Sensitive information
The details of your inquiry may include sensitive information such as criminal records, health or family relationships. We process such information only with your separate consent and only to the extent necessary for the consultation.

4. Retention period
We destroy personal information without delay once the purpose of the consultation has been achieved. If the consultation leads to us taking on your case, we keep it for the period necessary to handle the case and for any period that applicable laws require it to be retained.

5. Destruction procedure and method
Information whose retention period has expired or whose purpose has been achieved is destroyed without delay. Electronic files are deleted in a way that makes them unrecoverable, and paper documents are shredded or incinerated.

6. Provision to third parties
We do not provide personal information to third parties without the user's consent. The exceptions are cases where the law specifically provides otherwise, or where an investigative agency requests it through procedures prescribed by law.

7. Outsourcing of processing and transfer abroad
To operate the website and process consultation requests, we entrust the processing of personal information to the companies below, and in the process personal information is transferred abroad. The transfer takes place by transmission over the network when you submit a consultation request, and the retention period is as set out in section 4.

① Supabase Inc. (United States) - storage of consultation request information (database). Storage location: cloud servers in Japan (Tokyo). Items transferred: the consultation request items listed in section 2

② Formspree, Inc. (United States) - forwarding of consultation requests to the office's email. Items transferred: the consultation request items listed in section 2

③ Telegram - notifying the responsible staff member at the office of new consultation requests by messenger. Items transferred: name, contact details, details of the inquiry

④ Vercel Inc. (United States) - website hosting. Items transferred: access records

If you do not want your information transferred abroad, you can request a consultation via the messenger inquiry on this website instead of through the website form. Doing so will not put you at any disadvantage in receiving a consultation.

8. Automatic collection tools (cookies and visit analytics)
To compile visit statistics and improve the website, we may use Google Analytics and Naver Analytics (which use cookies) and Vercel Web Analytics (anonymous statistics without cookies). They do not contain information that can identify you, such as your name or contact details. You can refuse the storage of cookies in your browser settings, and refusing will not affect your use of the website.

9. Your rights
You may at any time request access to, correction or deletion of, or suspension of the processing of your personal information, and you may withdraw your consent. If you make a request via the messenger inquiry on this website, we will act on it without delay.

10. Security measures
We manage administrator accounts and access rights separately, control access to the database and encrypt all data in transit (HTTPS).

11. Privacy officer and inquiries
Privacy officer: Hansol Kim, attorney. For inquiries or complaints about personal information, please contact us via the messenger inquiry on this website.

12. Remedies for infringement of rights
